Analyzing the most eligible site selection for biomass energy facilities through weighted overlay analysis: case of Balikesir (Turkey) province

Objective: This study aims to analyze the eligible site selection for biomass energy facilities in Balıkesir province, which is ranked as one of important provinces Turkey from perspective agriculture and livestock activities. Material Methods: Within framework study, most areas province were determined by Weighted Overlay Analysis with use Geographic Information Systems. Results: In results it was revealed that districts Karesi, Susurluk Savaştepe, respectively, while Ayvalık, Edremit Erdek located coastal part not suitable. Conclusion: expected shed light on all planning studies undertaken within scope sustainable management city protection ecology.
